The Jeep scored a majestic ninety two% for grownup occupant coverage. Euro NCAP’s testers praised the Cherokee’s safety of adults within the facet barrier influence experiment, in spite of the fact that they suggested it supplied most effective “adequate” security inside the extra excessive facet-pole influence examine. Additionally they talked about that, in a rear-end collision, the Cherokee only offered “marginal” protection against whiplash. The Cherokee scored 67% in the pedestrian impact test, and 79% for child-occupant protection, but the testers noted one major fault in this area: the front passenger seat airbag could not be switched off, meaning that a rearward facing child seat could not be used.

The CLA also scored maximum points for its protection of an 18-month old infant, while the CLA’s active bonnet meant that pedestrian protection was mostly “good”, unless the dummy came into contact with the windscreen or A-pillars.
The Peugeot 2008 scores the same for adult and child occupant tests as the 208 supermini, on which it is based: 88% and 77% for adult and child protection respectively, with the testers criticising the marginal whiplash protection and chest protection in the side pole impact test. For child occupants, the testers noted that duringformtodavtion about whether or not the front passenger airbag should be switched off for a rearward facing child seat wasn’t clear and, as a result, the Peugeot did not score any points for this. However, the 2008 was much better than the 208 in the pedestrian impact test, scoring 72%, compared with the 208’s 61%.
Lastly, the Suzuki SX4 also scored 92% for adult occupant tests, never being marked below “adequate” for any test and being rated as “good” in most of them. It was also the safest car of the group for child occupants, earning maximum points for its policy cover of an 18-month old kid and protecting a three year-old impressively as well. The SX4 also scored maximum points for its insurance plan of pedestrians’ legs, however provided poor protection for people’s pelvises on front edge of the bumper.
